An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a Community Engagement Officer to become an integral member of the Liverpool Mobility Team.

The Liverpool team work out of the office in Knotty Ash office, and cover the counties of Merseyside and Cheshire.

As a Community Engagement Officer you will develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including professionals and volunteers in organisations across the sector, to develop a mutual understanding of service provision and opportunities for collaboration. In addition you will actively raise the profile of Guide Dogs, promoting our services and campaigns, and representing the views of people who are blind and partially sighted in a wide range of media including internal and external formats. Within this role you will be responsible for;
•    Customer Engagement - deliver general information visits to new customers; providing advice and support to enable the customer to understand and select approriate Guide Dog services specific to their individuals needs.
•    Campaigning and Awareness - provide a local voice for national campaigns.
•    Improving Access - actively challenge discrimination or social/environmental barriers affecting freedom of movement for peole who are blind and partially sighted.

Key Requirements for this role include;
•    A sound knowledge of the practical and environmental challenges which can  affect the independence and mobility of Blind and Partially sighted people.
•    Experience of closely working with or in a capacity to deliver services to blind and partially sighted people.
•    Experience of co-ordinating and/or managing volunteers or staff.
•    Eligibility to work in the UK.

Role details: 21hours per week, 12month fixed term contract.

Interview Dates: week commencing 7th September.
