Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Home based – National coverage
Hours: 35 per week
Working pattern: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Interview dates: 3rd April
Salary: £43,283 to £45,828 per annum.

As this role requires an Enhanced Disclosure check the start date for the successful candidate will only be confirmed upon receipt of the check.

Decisions to enable GDMI/GDT applications for transfers will be based on the business need.

We are looking for our next Head of Children’s skills and support services to lead the delivery of a best value service for all customers using children and parent services to meet their needs, maintain a national overview of service provision at all Guide Dogs locations. In this role you will represent Guide Dogs nationally and internationally to advocate the benefits of children’s services for people with sight loss and where relevant other disabilities or additional needs.  

In your application, you will need to evidence, using specific examples, how your skills and experience meet the criteria laid out in the person specification, within the Job Description below.

Requirements include;


•    Must have in depth experience in leading and managing service delivery with successful outcomes.
•    Substantial track record of effective leadership at  senior management level in an organisation of comparable size and complexity.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of having positively inspired, motivated, managed and influenced a range of stakeholders in a changing environment.
•    Proven track record in achieving results within a cross functional management role.
•    Extensive current theoretical and practical knowledge of CYP service delivery and management.
